EXHIBITION "VARIATIONS" #MariaChiaraRe FROM 20.11 TO 3.12.2023 www.54dunkerque.com Opening hours: from November 20th to December 3rd From 5 PM to 8 PM, closed on Sundays and Wednesdays.

The gallery presents, for the second time, the works of artist Maria Chiara Re. After exhibiting her sculptures in 2022, this new residence unveils her drawings. The series titled "VARIATIONS" consists of nine drawings of medium and large sizes, created with pen and marker, directly inspired by marble textures. Fascinated by this material, the artist establishes a dialogue between the robustness, delicacy, and diversity of textures, from quarries to carved blocks. In some esoteric traditions, marble is associated with energetic qualities, known to promote mental clarity and meditation. Some beliefs also attribute healing properties to it, supporting its ability to absorb negative energies and promote well-being. Maria's drawings exude striking liveliness and will be exhibited from November 20th to December 3rd at 54 Dunkerque, 75009 Paris. This is an opportunity not to be missed to discover this captivating artistic exploration. Born in Milan on 08/04/1998, Maria began her artistic journey at the Liceo Artistico L. Fontana di Arese art school in Milan, where she graduated in Figurative Art in 2017. She then continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, earning her level I academic diploma in 2021, specializing in sculpture with honors. During her residency in Carrara, Maria deepened her technique on marble and hard stone. Her diverse skills and interests range from 3D modeling to anthropological, cultural, and psychosocial explorations. From 2019 to 2021, she joined the "Ponte di Ferro" art workshop in Carrara, an artistic association where she had the opportunity to work on personal projects and collaborate with artists from diverse backgrounds. This period gave rise to fruitful collaborations, notably with Marco Petrasch for the creation of the work "OVO II." Maria was also part of the collective 31, founded in Carrara in 2018. Currently, Maria is focusing on small and medium-sized paper studies, adopting a graphical approach to explore her favorite subject: marble.
